Coffee, because it’s too early for wine!

       Do you know humans first discovered the effects of coffee on goats! The goat herder Kaldi from Ethiopia discovered coffee after he noticed that after eating the berries from a certain tree, his goats became so energetic that they did not want to sleep at night. He then reported this to the abbot of the local monastery, who made a drink with the berries and found that it kept him alert through the long hours of evening prayer. From there Coffee cultivation and trade began on the Arabian Peninsula. 

       By the 17th century, this brand new black beverage became famous in Europe. Although it was not always loved like it does now, some people reacted to the new beverage with fear and suspicion, calling it 'bitter invention of Satan 'the devil's cup' Despite such controversy coffee houses became popular in Europe becoming centers of social activities & communication in major cities. Much like the tea-drinking Buddhist monks of China & Japan, monks found that coffee's uplifting effects were beneficial in keeping them awake during their spiritual practice of prayers and holy devotion. By the end of the 18th century, coffee had become one of the world's most profitable export crops. After crude oil, coffee is the most sought commodity in the world.



              Interesting to know that Coffee was so powerful a force that it forged a social revolution. The coffee houses in London soon became the place to go to socialize, also the places were known as 'A school of wise' the place where people discussed what was going on in your world, establishing The link between coffee and intellectual life.

     Talking about its health benefits, it contains a stimulant called caffeine which blocks an inhibitory neurotransmitter in your brain, which causes a stimulant effect.
