Modak for Ganesha & You !!

It's Ganesh Chaturthi a festival of Hindu deity Ganesh celebrated with the arrival of Ganesh to earth from Kailas Parbat with his mother Goddess Parvathi.

That's the occasion when all Ganesh Bhakts make their favorite sweet dish 'Modak' for Lord Ganesha, also known as kozakattai in Tamil, kudumu in Telugu.

                                                           "Ukdiche Modak"

                                                    Coconut & Jaggery stuffing (Saran)

What's so good about these sweet dumplings is they are completely healthy to eat cause of ingredients such as rice flour, coconut, ghee, and jaggery. The leaves which u see are turmeric leaves which give it a nice aroma when they are all steamed.

                                                                    Turmeric leaves

These are specially made during the Ganesh festival as lord Ganesha is so much fond of eating sweets one of his favorite sweet being Modak !! They say that once when Ganesha visited rishi Sage where he was served with innumerable food items but still he didn't feel full with his big tummy...Finally, he was full after eating Modak, where his mum Parvathi expressed her wish to his devotees to serve him with this sweet dish called Modaka!

I'm myself fond of anything made of coconut, it's a treat for Ganesh bhakts to have this delicacy...Ganpati Bappa Morya ! 🙏
